Star Wars: The Old Republic : Significant Changes Coming to Several Systems in KotFE
I'm very excited about this expansion! I really love the story lines of the different classes. Very happy that Bioware cares about giving good story/lore.

Reading assorted posts about Worldcon, I feel like I was at an entirely different convention. To read those (and you can find the on twitter, facebook and in blogs all over the place), you'd think it was entirely populated by middle-aged or old white men. With absolutely no visual media.
At Worldcon, I wore a hall costume, I chatted with new writers, I bought books, t shirts and jewelry. I chatted with fans decades younger and decades older than I. I partied. A lot. I took pictures with a Dalek, the TARDIS, and on the GOT Throne. I talked about science, writing, space, books, food, conrunning, sex, Fringe, television, movies and many, many other things. I ate weird candies from Finland and Japan. I drank things that I can't begin to describe! I connected with random folks in the hallways. I had good times.
I noted the assorted issues. Yes, there were young fans but not a huge amount. Yes, there were POC but not a lot. There could have been more programming aimed at younger fans. There could have been more visual media related programming. There are many, many wonderful changes that would improve Worldcon and its appeal to a broader, more diverse audience. Including, folks like me making posts like this.

Had a great time. Everyone in that photo....good, kind people. Mostly, I was there to meet folks I'd known on usenet for a decade or more. It was wonderful! Overall, it was good. A few glitches with con stuff and personal stuff. Still, we laughed, we cried, we listened to Narn Opera.

On Sunday, July 8th, I'm kicking off a month-long fundraiser for wolf conservation. Why? Well, I just wrote a book about a woman who turns into a wolf (Silver Moon) and am working on its sequel so wolves are a big part of my writing life right now. Wolves continue to be endangered and to be far less of a threat than proponents of wolf hunting and eradication programs would have you believe. In short, wolves get a bad rap and, like a lot of other people, I'm pretty intrigued by them and I'd like them to stick around.
I'll be doing a book giveaway of the following (Pictures are posted on my journal entries below):
1 signed pb copy of Silver Moon, plus a copy of Willow Creek Press' gorgeous Spirit of the Wolf and a lovely bookmark from Northland Visions, my local Native American owned and operated gift shop.
1 signed pb copy of Silver Moon, plus an adorable plushy howling wolf from Stuffed Animal House and a wolf magnet from Northland Visions.
Edited to add (I'm sure that the respective authors and editors might be persuaded to sign these as well :-):
2 pb copies of The Dubious Hills by Pamela Dean. This is a YA novel about all sorts of things, including werewolves. And really what more could one ask?
1 pb copy of WolfSongs Vol. 1, edited by M.H. Bonham and donated by S.N Arly. Anthology of sf/f/h wolf stories including stories by Lyn McConchie, Laura Underwood, Selina Rosen, S.N. Arly and a host of other talented folks.
1 pb copy of WolfSongs, Vol. 2, edited by M.H. Bonham and donated by Therese Arkenberg. Second volume of wolf stories, also from Wolfsinger Publications. This one includes stories by Diane Pharaoh Francis, Irene Radford, Carol Hightshoe, Therese Arkenberg and other fine writers.
1 pb copy of Ladies of Trade Town edited by Lee Martindale. (Harphaven Publishing, 2011). Anthology of fantasy stories about sex workers which includes the weremadam story "Do Unto Others" by Rebecca McFarland Kyle, as well as stories by Mark Tiedemann, Cecilia Tan, Lee Martindale, Rob Chilson and me, as well as a bunch of other authors you should check out.
1 pb copy of Living with Ghosts by Kari Sperring. A swashbuckling fantasy novel about the city of Merafi and its inhabitants, ghosts, shapeshifters and magic.
1 pb copy of The Shapeshifters' Library by Amber Polo (forthcoming in print 9/12 - winner gets a copy when it's available in print). A lively tale of shapeshifting dogs, werewolves and librarians.
1 hc copy of Goblin Secrets by William Alexander. A young boy, a goblin theater troupe and a fox shapeshifter make for an exciting journey through a fantastical landscape.
1 pb copy of Bitten by Moonlight edited by JoSelle Vanderhooft. 4 lesbian werewolf novellas by Erzebet Yellowboy, Racheline Maltese, Tyree Campbell and me. This includes the original version of Silver Moon, before it grew up to be a novel, as well as vegan werewolves, ancient Roman werewolves and lots of other good stuff.
1 pb copy of Unnatural Tales of the Jackalope edited by John Palisano. Tales of jackalopes, shifting, changing, doing deeds great and/or evil. Includes stories by A.J. French, Jeff Strand, Kristi Petersen Schoonover, Jezzy Wolfe and other fine writers.
1 pb copy of Remember Me to Paradise by Amy J. Benesch. An intriguing tale of a shapeshifting alien who comes to Earth and loses himself in his new lives.
